Chapter 485 Danill’s Show
Chapter 485 Danill’s Show
Danill stood at the front of the mansion grounds with the six werewolves spread behind him carefully.
Nobody moved recklessly.
Nobody rushed.
The cold night wind brushed through the trees surrounding the estate while the vampires remained scattered across the outer grounds like predators circling prey. Their glowing red eyes reflected sharply beneath the moonlight and their pale faces looked almost corpse-like from a distance.
But Danill stayed calm.
Very calm.
His yellow eyes scanned the battlefield carefully while faint fog continued escaping from his mouth with every slow breath he took. His claws flexed once at his sides before relaxing again.
He already alerted Irina before stepping outside.
That was the priority.
Survive until backup arrived.
Not glory.
Not revenge.
Defense.
That was why he had only partially transformed his men. Full transformations would burn through stamina too fast and make them harder to control if the battle dragged on.
He glanced behind him briefly.
Six wolves.
One of them looked nervous but Danill immediately noticed it.
"Relax your shoulders," he said calmly.
The younger wolf blinked and adjusted instantly.
"If you tense up before the fight starts then you’ll burn energy before throwing a punch."
The wolf nodded quickly.
Danill looked forward again.
"Stay tight. Don’t chase anyone too far from the mansion."
Another nod came from behind him.
Upstairs inside the mansion Anya peeked carefully through the large window while practically hiding behind Liam’s body at the same time. Her fingers clung tightly to the back of his shirt without even realizing it.
Her eyes stayed wide the entire time.
This still didn’t feel real.
None of it.
The glowing eyes.
The claws.
The fangs.
The way those men outside looked like monsters pretending to wear human skin.
Beside them Lana leaned lazily against the window frame with folded arms.
Despite just waking up she looked surprisingly calm watching everything outside.
Then she looked toward Liam.
"Should I join them?"
There was no fear in her voice at all.
Only mild curiosity.
Liam shook his head immediately.
"Wait."
Lana raised a brow slightly.
"You sure?"
"I want to see what the wolves are really capable of."
Down below the vampires finally started moving.
Not all at once.
Ten stepped forward first.
The movement alone shifted the atmosphere outside immediately.
Their speed wasn’t normal. One second they stood still and the next they were already gliding across the mansion grounds unnaturally fast. Their feet barely seemed to touch the ground properly as they spread outward while rushing the wolves from multiple angles.
Anya’s breathing caught instantly.
"Oh my God..."
She grabbed Liam’s arm even tighter.
Danill’s eyes sharpened immediately.
"Formation!"
The six wolves moved instantly without hesitation.
Two shifted left.
Two right.
The remaining two stayed behind Danill while keeping enough space between themselves to avoid getting surrounded.
The vampires attacked first.
One launched himself forward with insane speed aiming directly for Danill’s throat. His nails stretched outward like blades while his mouth opened revealing long sharp fangs.
Danill didn’t move until the last second.
Then suddenly he stepped sideways.
Fast.
His clawed hand grabbed the vampire’s wrist midair and twisted violently.
Crack!
The arm snapped instantly.
Before the vampire could even scream Danill drove his knee upward into his stomach hard enough to bend his body backward unnaturally.
Then he grabbed the vampire’s face.
And smashed it directly into the ground.
BOOM!
Concrete exploded outward.
Blood sprayed across the stone pathway.
The vampire twitched once before Danill stomped downward brutally.
Crunch.
Anya gasped loudly upstairs and covered her mouth in horror.
Lana however looked impressed.
"Not bad."
The battle exploded fully after that.
One vampire rushed the wolves on the left side but the moment he got close both wolves attacked together perfectly. One ducked low and grabbed his leg while the other slammed both clawed hands across his chest.
Riiiiip!
Blood burst across the air.
The vampire screamed as deep claw marks tore through his torso.
Then the wolf holding his leg yanked downward violently while the other pulled upward.
The body split apart gruesomely.
Anya nearly screamed.
Her legs weakened slightly and she instinctively pressed herself tighter against Liam’s side.
"This can’t be real..."
Liam remained calm while watching outside carefully.
Another vampire suddenly leaped high into the air trying to enter through the second floor window directly.
Anya saw him coming first.
"Liam!"
Before the vampire could even crash through the glass one of the wolves below reacted instantly.
The werewolf crouched low then launched upward with explosive force.
BOOOOM!
The ground beneath him cracked apart.
Midair he grabbed the vampire by the throat with both hands and slammed him violently into the mansion wall.
The impact shattered windows nearby.
Then the wolf tore directly into the vampire’s neck with his claws.
Blood rained downward across the stone walls.
The corpse dropped lifelessly.
Three dead already.
Danill moved constantly across the battlefield now.
Not recklessly.
Controlled.
Every move had purpose.
A vampire rushed one of his men from behind but Danill saw it instantly.
"Down!"
The wolf ducked immediately.
Danill appeared behind him a split second later and drove his claws directly through the vampire’s chest from the back.
The vampire froze.
Danill leaned toward his ear slightly.
"Too slow."
Then ripped his heart out violently.
Four dead.
The remaining vampires finally started backing up slightly.
Not retreating.
Reassessing.
Danill noticed immediately.
"They’re testing us," he muttered.
One of the wolves beside him wiped blood from his jaw and growled softly.
"So what now?"
Danill kept his eyes forward.
"Now we make them regret coming closer."
Upstairs Anya was still frozen.
Every few seconds something impossible happened outside and her brain completely failed to process it fast enough.
One wolf jumped nearly fifteen feet into the air.
Another vampire ran across a wall sideways before getting tackled through a tree.
The sounds alone were terrifying.
Bones breaking.
Growls.
Concrete cracking.
Inhuman screams echoing through the night.
And somehow through all of it Liam remained perfectly calm.
That part disturbed her almost as much as the fight itself.
"How are you so calm?" she whispered shakily while still clutching him tightly.
Liam glanced down at her briefly.
"I’ve seen worse."
That answer did not comfort her at all.
Outside the vampires attacked again.
This time smarter.
Two rushed from the front while another circled wide trying to blindside Danill from the right.
Danill noticed instantly.
"Right side!"
One of his wolves reacted immediately and intercepted the flanking vampire before he could close in. Their bodies collided violently and rolled across the ground smashing through a stone bench.
Meanwhile Danill stepped directly into the two frontal attackers.
A vampire slashed toward his face but Danill caught the wrist mid strike and twisted hard enough to rip the arm completely off.
The vampire screamed.
Danill immediately used the detached arm itself as a weapon and smashed it across another vampire’s face with disgusting force.
Crunch!
Teeth flew through the air.
Then Danill spun low and swept his leg outward with monstrous strength.
Both vampires lost balance instantly.
The moment they hit the ground he pounced.
His claws tore across one vampire’s throat while his fangs sank directly into the second one’s shoulder violently enough to rip flesh away.
Blood sprayed across his face.
The wolves behind him pushed forward now with growing confidence.
They were winning.
Not barely.
Clearly.
Every vampire that got too close paid for it badly.
Their teamwork was better.
Their positioning tighter.
And Danill’s leadership kept them disciplined.
Nobody overextended.
Nobody chased fleeing enemies.
Every time a wolf drifted too far Danill barked a sharp order and they immediately repositioned.
The vampires began slowing down now.
Even from upstairs Liam noticed it.
"They didn’t expect this."
Lana smirked faintly.
"Most people don’t."
Outside Danill slowly straightened up again while blood dripped from his claws onto the cracked stone beneath him.
Four vampire corpses now littered the mansion grounds.
Several others were badly injured.
And the remaining vampires no longer looked nearly as confident as before.
Then suddenly everything went still again.
The surviving vampires slowly backed away several steps.
Danill narrowed his yellow eyes immediately.
That wasn’t fear.
That was preparation.
And deep down he knew.
The real attack probably hadn’t even started yet.
