Chapter 505 Incoming Father
Chapter 505 Incoming Father
Lilith didn’t immediately answer Liam’s question.
A mysterious smile appeared on her face for a second before she suddenly changed her mind.
"You know what?" she said. "I’ll let my cuzz tell you himself."
Before Liam could ask anything else, she turned around and walked away toward Lana and Ann.
Liam stood there blinking.
"What kind of answer is that?"
But Lilith was already gone.
A few seconds later she was talking to Lana and Ann while the three women immediately started chatting like they had only been apart for a few hours instead of days.
Liam shook his head.
Then he started walking toward the others.
The first person he reached was Vanessa.
A smile appeared on her face immediately.
She looked exactly as confident and beautiful as ever.
Before she could even say anything, Liam wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into a hug.
"Missed me?" he asked.
Vanessa rolled her eyes.
"No."
Liam leaned down and kissed her cheek.
"Liar."
A tiny smile escaped her.
"Maybe a little."
"A little?"
She sighed dramatically.
"Fine. A lot."
"That’s better."
Vanessa smacked his chest lightly.
Then Liam moved toward Kelly.
The moment Kelly saw him approaching she already knew what was coming.
She opened her arms.
Liam hugged her tightly.
Kelly laughed.
"You’re getting bigger."
"What?"
"You heard me."
"I’ve always been big."
"Your ego definitely has."
Liam looked offended.
Kelly laughed harder.
He kissed her forehead before finally letting her go.
Standing nearby were the two new girls.
Both of them looked completely stunned.
Actually stunned wasn’t even the right word.
They looked like their brains had stopped functioning.
Dickson had apparently told them about Liam before.
But hearing something and seeing it were two completely different things.
One thing was listening to a story.
Another thing was watching it happen right in front of your face.
The girls looked toward Vanessa.
Then Kelly.
Then Ann.
Then Lana.
Then Lilith.
Then back to Liam.
Then repeated the process again.
Their eyes kept widening every time.
One of them finally whispered.
"He’s actually dating all of them?"
The other nodded slowly.
"I thought Dickson was exaggerating."
"So did I."
"But he’s not."
"Nope."
"That’s insane."
The first girl looked toward Liam again.
"How is he alive?"
The second girl didn’t have an answer.
Meanwhile Liam had finally reached Dickson.
Everyone else was smiling naturally.
Dickson wasn’t.
He was trying.
Trying very hard.
But Liam knew that smile.
That wasn’t a happy smile.
That was the smile of a man whose life had taken a wrong turn and he was desperately pretending everything was okay.
The moment Liam saw it, he almost started laughing already.
This man has fucked around and found out.
Literally.
Dickson immediately grabbed Liam’s arm.
"We need to talk."
Liam raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"Right now."
Liam looked toward the others.
Then back at Dickson.
Then at the two nervous girls.
Then back at Dickson again.
A grin slowly spread across his face.
"Ohhh."
Dickson’s eye twitched.
"Come."
Without waiting for an answer, he started dragging Liam away.
Liam followed while trying not to laugh.
The further they walked from the group, the more suspicious Dickson looked.
Eventually they stopped near the edge of the airport.
Liam folded his arms.
"Alright."
Dickson opened his mouth.
Then closed it.
Then opened it again.
Then closed it.
Liam watched the entire performance.
"What?"
Dickson sighed.
"This is hard."
"You’re making me nervous."
"You should be."
Liam looked confused.
"What did you do?"
Dickson reached out and grabbed Liam’s hand.
The second he did—
ZAM!
A spark of lightning exploded from his fingers.
"Ouch!"
Liam immediately yanked his hand back.
"Damn Dick!"
He shook his hand.
"Watch your fucking powers!"
Dickson’s eyes widened.
"I didn’t mean to!"
Liam glared at him.
His hand was still tingling.
Dickson quickly raised both hands.
"Sorry man."
"You shocked me."
"I was nervous."
"Nervous enough to electrocute people apparently."
Dickson groaned.
"Can you take this seriously?"
Liam stared at him.
"No."
"I haven’t even said anything yet."
"You look funny."
Dickson closed his eyes.
This was already going badly.
Liam smirked.
"So."
Dickson scratched the back of his head.
His shoulders dropped.
Then he finally spoke.
"I’m fucked bro."
Liam’s grin immediately widened.
"I think I know that already."
Dickson pointed at him.
"See? That’s exactly why I didn’t want to tell you."
"What happened?"
Dickson looked away.
Then toward the sky.
Then back toward Liam.
Finally he sighed.
"I got them pregnant man."
Liam blinked.
For one second his brain stopped working.
Dickson continued.
"Those two girls."
Silence.
"I got both of them pregnant."
Silence.
"And the stupid bitches wouldn’t terminate it."
Liam froze.
His face became completely blank.
Dickson actually felt hopeful for a second.
Maybe Liam was taking it seriously.
Maybe—
Then Liam exploded.
The laughter came out so suddenly that Dickson physically flinched.
"HAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Liam bent forward immediately.
His entire body shaking.
"Oh my God!"
Dickson’s face darkened.
"Hahahaha!"
Liam grabbed his stomach.
Tears immediately started forming in his eyes.
"You idiot!"
Dickson stood there with dead eyes.
No emotion.
No happiness.
Nothing.
Just suffering.
Liam pointed at him.
"You actually did it!"
Dickson wanted the earth to swallow him whole.
"Hahahaha!"
People nearby started looking over.
Liam couldn’t stop.
Every time he imagined Dickson becoming a father, he laughed even harder.
The image was too ridiculous.
"Dickson!"
Liam wheezed.
"You!"
More laughter.
"You of all people!"
Dickson folded his arms.
"I hate you."
Liam ignored him.
He slapped Dickson’s shoulder.
"You my friend are so cool."
Dickson looked horrified.
"Don’t encourage me."
"How do you get two girls pregnant?"
"I don’t know!"
"Oh my God!"
Liam laughed again.
Dickson’s face turned darker.
He had come for support.
Comfort.
Advice.
Instead he got this.
Liam was completely useless.
"They said a child is a blessing."
Dickson narrowed his eyes.
Liam raised two fingers.
"You my friend have two coming."
Dickson already knew where this was going.
"I say..."
Liam pointed dramatically at him.
"Double blessing!"
"Damn you bastard!"
Dickson launched himself forward.
Liam barely had time to react.
The next second Dickson crashed into him.
Both men went down instantly.
Thud!
Liam landed flat on his butt.
Dickson nearly fell on top of him.
People nearby immediately turned toward the commotion.
Lana looked over.
Ann looked over.
Kelly looked over.
Even Lilith stopped talking.
And what they saw was Liam sitting on the ground laughing so hard he could barely breathe while Dickson looked like he was one second away from committing murder.
The contrast was ridiculous.
Liam pointed at him again.
"No seriously!"
"Hahahaha!"
"Double blessing!"
Dickson grabbed a handful of dirt.
"I swear to God—"
But Liam only laughed harder.
And harder.
And harder.
Until tears were literally rolling down his face.
Dickson stood there staring at him with the most irritated expression imaginable while everyone else watched the scene unfold.
The worst part?
Liam wasn’t even trying to stop.
He was enjoying every second of it.
Liam finally pushed himself off the ground, still chuckling as he brushed dust from his coat.
He looked at Dickson and shook his head.
"Dickson, you are going to be a father. Isn’t that good news? Why are you so sad about it?"
Dickson stared at him like he had just said the dumbest thing in human history.
"Good news?"
"Yeah."
"Good news?"
"That’s what I said."
Dickson rubbed both hands over his face miserably.
The more Liam smiled, the worse he felt.
After making sure nobody was close enough to overhear them, Dickson stepped even closer.
"Listen man."
Liam immediately folded his arms.
"I’m listening."
"About a month ago I picked up two hookup girls from a party."
Liam’s grin slowly disappeared.
"And?"
"We spent the whole night together."
Liam’s eyes widened.
"Don’t tell me."
Dickson pointed at him.
"I’m telling you man."
"Oh no."
"I impregnated two hookers."
Liam winced.
Dickson looked like a man standing at the edge of a cliff.
"I’m so fucked."
Liam opened his mouth.
Then closed it.
Then opened it again.
For once he actually didn’t have a joke ready.
Dickson continued speaking before he could.
"The mothers of my children are gonna be hookers."
He pointed at himself dramatically.
"Me."
Then pointed toward the two girls in the distance.
"Them."
Then pointed at the sky.
"And apparently fate looked at all this and said yes, this seems like a fantastic idea."
Liam tried not to laugh.
He really did.
But the way Dickson said it made it impossible.
A snort escaped him.
Dickson immediately glared.
"Don’t."
Liam coughed.
"I’m trying."
"Don’t."
"I’m trying!"
Dickson groaned and grabbed his head.
"I am so fucked man."
This time Liam finally understood the real issue.
Dickson wasn’t scared of being a father.
He was scared of everything surrounding it.
The responsibility.
The uncertainty.
The fact that he barely knew the women involved.
The reality was finally catching up to him.
Liam sighed and patted his shoulder.
"Yeah."
Dickson looked up hopefully.
"Yeah?"
"You really fucked around and found out my friend."
Dickson nearly cried.
"That’s not helping."
"It’s the truth."
"I know it’s the truth."
Dickson grabbed both of Liam’s shoulders.
"You need to help me out here."
Liam blinked.
"Help you?"
"Yes."
"How?"
Dickson spoke quickly.
"I promise I won’t sleep with hookers anymore."
Liam stared.
"That was your takeaway from all this?"
"I swear on my life."
"Dickson."
"I mean it."
"Dickson."
"No more."
"Dickson!"
"What?"
Liam looked genuinely confused.
"How the fuck am I meant to help you?"
Dickson froze.
The question hit him harder than expected.
He opened his mouth.
Nothing came out.
Then he thought about it.
A few seconds passed.
Another few seconds.
Finally he scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"I... actually don’t know."
Liam burst out laughing again.
Dickson closed his eyes in defeat.
Somewhere in the distance, Ann’s laughter could be heard as she watched the two men from afar.
And standing nearby, the two women responsible for Dickson’s current suffering looked completely unaware that the future father of their children was having a full mental breakdown.
